For Artists: The True Goal

Artists are meant to change the world. I don’t mean that in a Marvel superhero way. The thing about artists is, we don’t just make art in one form. Eventually, or hopefully, we learn that each part of life is art.

I see artists all the time that probably don’t even know they’re making art. I see art in the way that people dress and present themselves. I see art in the way people talk and treat each other. The way that someone decides to crack a joke and make a mundane situation funny.

This is when an artist truly becomes an artist. When they realize that in the same way a painting or song comes from their mind and through work becomes a tangible thing, every other aspect of their life can be altered by the same method. Your life is literally your canvas.

Don’t get trapped into the concept of art as a career or just a hobby you do in your spare time. Make art in life, for life. Make art in the way you dress yourself, the way you flirt with the person you like, the way you cook for them, the way you treat your friends and family, the way you propose to your partner, the way you work on yourself as a partner, the way you raise kids.

This is how the artist changes the world, and it’s the most fulfilling and worthwhile project you’ll ever work on.
